I think voting rights should not be dependent on age, age doesn't mean anything. There could be a 17-year-old high school graduate who has a job and pays taxes, and a 47-year-old who dropped out, can't read, and has no job. But it's the 47-year-old who can vote, not the tax-paying graduate. How does that make sense?

It doesn't. I fully support lowering the voting age substantially, though maybe adding other restrictions in its place.
And welcome to Forum192, NightSnake.

Why just lowering it, why not abolish it?
And thanks for the welcome. Smile

I don't know, I know it should be lowered, I'm not sure if it should be abolished. If we replaced with something like requiring a high school diploma, then the point'd be moot I guess.
